I think you only gotta take a look at the physical nature of the 2 games to figure that one: Basketball requires constant running and jumping. It is a highly athletic and constantly fast and taxing game - it also requires elements of aerobic capacity.

Football, on the other hand, does not even require aerobic capacity - at least, very little of it: if you lucky you run for 10 seconds! ... then you slowly walk off to talk about the next play.

Nearly 2 mins later, you finally ready to run for another 5 or 10 secs!!!

football coaches watch their players play. basketball coaches are more hands on. also, not all football players are athletic looking...linemen. while in basketball, all the players are skinny as rails. lol, they're hot!
